A P The husband-and-wife team behind Surge Coffee Bar & Billiards is seeking to open a third location in Logan Square.
Unlike their existing places, the new spot, planned for the previous Saki report keep at 3716 W. Fullerton Ave., could be a dessert bar rather than a coffee bar.
Precisely what kinds of cakes will be served are still being worked out. More extensively, co-proprietor Wahib Merchant stated that he and his wife, Kareeshma Ali, are aiming to supplement all of the present eating places and espresso stores inside the community.
“We would take the role of an after-dinner spot,” Merchant stated.
The couple desires a public place of entertainment license from the town and approval from the new Ald. Felix Cardona Jr. (31st) to open. A community assembly is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Grace Parish School, 2446 N. Ridgeway Ave.
If everything goes according to plan, the new spot will feature as many as a dozen pool tables and a bar serving cocktails and coffee.
Patrons should expect a pool corridor with a bar — no longer one with pool tables.
“We have a bar as a complement to the pool corridor,” said Merchant, a Rogers Park native who grew up in pool halls. “The pool and the socializing come first.”
The pair operate two favorite places — one in Albany Park and another in Edgewater. The Albany Park place, the unique Surge Coffee Bar & Billiards, opened in the past due 2017. The Edgewater location, Pressure Billiards & Cafe, opened more excellently than a decade ago.
Merchants said they had been interested in Logan Square for its variety and robust nearby faculties, church groups, and community block golf equipment—establishments they plan on assisting via events and other capabilities.
“We honestly try to be part of the community. That’s one in all our essential dreams,” Merchant said.
If Surge opens, it’ll be the present-day new commercial enterprise to open along Fullerton Avenue in West Logan Square. The latest additions are the Little Pickle sandwich shop and bar Park & Field. Food Dining Guide
