HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Customer career abilties are essential for some careers, and Horry Georgetown Technical College is now presenting a new program designed around those competencies.
Whether in banking, retail, medical, or hospitality, organizers of the brand-new customer service program at HGTC said there is no longer an enterprise inside the body of workers that doesn’t need customer service representatives.
Theresa Strong, enterprise program chair and professor at HGTC, said the idea surrounding customer support has honestly evolved over the years. Whether one visits a lodge, an eating place, an appeal, or purchases a brand new domestic, the customer service level may play a massive position in a person’s usual notion of a commercial enterprise. That’s why this new application is designed to educate students on working with humans professionally, correctly, and with courtesy.
Students enrolled will benefit from a background in enterprise, management, and advertising, emphasizing customer support. With the regular increase in location, this certificate software was created to satisfy the growing enterprise need for certified customer support representatives.
Strong stated that the Grand Strand is a traveler-driven marketplace, and the hospitality industry is at the vanguard. They believe everyone can enter the field of customer service.
“I virtually do think all people can work in customer support, and just like with each other profession you move into, some humans are born with a present to talk to or paint with humans. This is built to help people become more secure speaking and dealing with other people and supporting them, so they’ll learn plenty of basics, after which they’ll get into a bit more concerned courses,” stated Strong.
She said customer service could cross properly beyond the hospitality industry and fellow employees in all fields.
Officials say the world of travel and tourism has become very aggressive. Since the Myrtle Beach network continues to develop, Jeffrey Wisniewski, events and club programs manager for the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association said this new program at HGTC is an excellent resource for folks who need to hone their customer service abilities and improve their careers.
“It’s a brilliant aspect for the vicinity. The globalization of travel and tourism has become very aggressive. So surely, coaching students in the art of customer support can, in reality, set groups and the vacation spot as a whole apart from different places. So we’re very excited that they’ve delivered this application to their curriculum now,” stated Wisniewski.
He says the art of customer support can set companies and destinations apart from different places. Wisniewski hopes this program will inspire HGTC students to stay inside the Grand Strand after finishing the route and pursue careers within the developing hospitality enterprise.
When it comes to the competitive hospitality industry, many tourists are now looking for the ability to not only meet but exceed clients’ expectations.
“Travel now could be about reviews. However, a big part of that experience is the career visitors receive while visiting any area, wh whether it’s a social enterprise or restaurant, a resort, poof inta rest, or whatever. Part of that enjoyment is the visitor carrier enjoy and which could make a large difference in someone’s general notion of an enterprise, in an area, is simply that wonderful customer support they receive, anyplace they’re at,” said Wisniewski.
