Kolkata: The Congress and CPI(M) MLAs staged a walkout from the West Bengal assembly on Monday, protesting against the continued “reduce money scam” and demanding an inquiry into the incident.
Shouting slogans against the Trinamool Congress authorities over the cut cash problem, legislators of both parties got down to business. They demanded that the authorities set up an inquiry commission to investigate the issue.
Seeking an explanation from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the matter and a return of the reduced money, the MLAs staged a walkout from the House.
“We call to set up an inquiry fee to look at this trouble of cut cash. We need to recognize who has taken the money,” Congress leader whip Manoj Chakraborty informed newshounds outside the House.
The competition MLAs wereters and placards bearing ‘Cut Money, mthe words mean Chief Minister.’After protesting outside the assembly for some time, they re-entered the House and participated in the lawsuits.
Reacting to the protest, Parliamentary Affairs Minister and senior TMC chief Partha Chatterjee stated the opposition isn’t always interested in the smooth functioning of the residence.
TMC leaders at the municipal and panchayat stages have been facing public ire within the districts of Birbhum, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Burdwan, Malda, Purulia, Nadia, Kolkata, West Midnapore and Bankura.
TMC Rajya Sabha MP Santanu Sen has recently faced allegations of seeking ” reduced cash” from a realtor in north Kolkata. Sen has denied the accusation as “baseless and politically encouraged” to tarnish his popularity.
During a latest birthday celebration meeting, TMC supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had warned leaders that the ones involved in taking “cut cash” from authorities schemes and different corrupt practices could be placed behind bars.
Ruling out any truck with the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, the Communist Party of India Marxist stated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee does not have “any credibility to fight fascism.”In an assertion on Wednesday, Banerjee called the Left and Congress to construct a joint front against the BJP in Bengal. At the meeting, Banerjee stated, “I have apprehensions that the BJP might change the Constitution of India. I suppose everyone, together with the Left and Congress, has to join palms to fight the BJP.”
This is the first time the Chief Minister has overtly sought to join hands with her once-arch competitors to defeat the bigger domestic enemy.
In a terse response to Banerjee’s overtures, senior CPM chief and previous MP Mohd Salim stated the TMC had misplaced the moral proper to provide a call for collective combat.
“We can’t say about the Congress, but CPI(M) is under no compulsion to save @MamataOfficial’s profession. She has misplaced the ethical right to give this call to combat the BJP in Bengal. The TMC does no longer have any credibility to fight fascism.”
The Trinamool Congress has been plagued by desertions in its ranks after the BJP ratcheted up its attack at the ruling birthday celebration and achieved victory in 18 Lok Sabha seats in the just-concluded well-known elections.
