And if you’re living by yourself, then nothing like finishing up an entire bowl of a well-made dessert for yourself. While making a chocolate cake or banana walnut bread is easy, why not master the difficult task of making Dulce de leche.
All you need is a can of condensed milk, three cups of water, a bar of your favourite chocolate, caramel sauce and a small finishing nail. Follow these three simple step recipe to ensure you get this right in the first go itself.
Make two holes in the can with the finishing nail right on the top. Place the can of condensed milk into a small pan and pour water into it to reach up to the can. Bring water to boil and then lower the flame. Simmer milk in the can for at least 3 hours. Once the colour of the milk starts changing to light brown and becomes thicker in consistency. Add more water as it begins to boil down. Once you get a thick consistency, shift the milk into a bowl and whisk it gently to break any lumps away. Transfer the Dulce onto a plate and garnish with caramel sauce and chocolate shavings. You can also use Dulce as a dip and enjoy it with slices of apples, pear, and carrots.
